Two chicks from new york have taken colorado springs by storm. The two opened "A Flavor of NY Deli" south on 21st St. 1 blk. south of highway 24.

They opened on dec. 9th 2002 and within 4 days they had repeat customers. Everyone has been complimenting them or giving them the thumbs up as they are eating.

The two are originally from new york and have been best friends since the age of six. They lost touch for about 10 years before they were able to track each other down once again. They moved to the Colorado Springs area and been having a fantastic time since they got back together.

The two exuberant ladies run the deli by themselves. All the meats and cheeses are sliced fresh as sandwiches for their customers. the sandwiches are made while the customer waits.

The women are using top-of-the-line BOAR'S HEAD meats and cheeses. Every full sandwich comes with a bag of chips and a pickle.

The soup they serve is also homemade. "We grew up on this food and wanted to be able to eat it in Colorado".

There are a variety of breads that a customer can choose from to build their enormous sandwiches. And just in case their enormous sandwich doesn't fill you up the women also carry ny style desserts.

They love to cook and be around people. "the way we give back to  the world is to feed people". In fact, the first two customers to the deli were two women from new york. "It's great because all the new yorkers are coming out of the woodwork. Makes us feel like we are back home".

The establishment even has a reward card. When a customer purchases a sandwich, it is tallied on their card. After buying their 10th sandwich, they receive a free one. There is also a $1.00 discount for senior citizens, students and active military.

So far the ladies feel very lucky for the opportunity and the chances they have been given and are hoping the future will bring more of the same. they feel very blessed.
